Make sure that your name and return address, as well as the resister's full name and inmate number, are included on the envelope and all pages of the letter. There is no limit on how many letters they are allowed to have in their cell at any one time. They are allowed to have up to 20 photographs in their cell at once, so send them pictures too! No Polaroids though. Letters should be written in pen on clean and plain lined paper. Letters have been turned away in the past due to small stains from coffee spills, etc., so make sure the paper is immaculate. Please don't write about anything potentially incriminating. To send books directly to resisters, use the above mailling address. Books cannot be sent from a personal address, they must be sent from a company, such as Amazon, or a bookstore. It is safer to send new books until we know whether they can receive used ones or not. They are allowed to have up to five books and two magazines in their cell at once, but additional books can go to the prison library, so send away! |
